LinQ Notes Explorer Overview

LinQ Notes Explorer allows you to search and analyze Electronic Medical Record (EMR) notes. Create powerful Notes Queries using different keywords, conditions, and advanced filters to find specific clinical information within patient records.

What is a Notes Query?

A Notes Query is a search configuration that allows you to find specific information within patient EMR notes. You can build queries using:

  • Multiple Keywords: Search for one or more keywords within clinical notes
  • Different Conditions: Use "Contains", "Does Not Contain", "Starts With", or "Ends With" conditions
  • Keyword Groups: Combine keywords using AND/OR logic for complex searches
  • Advanced Filters: Apply additional criteria to narrow down results

Building a Notes Query

The Notes Builder interface allows you to create queries with various options:

  1. Select Condition: Choose how the keyword should match (Contains, Does Not Contain, etc.)
  2. Enter Keywords: Type one or more keywords separated by commas or new lines
  3. Add Groups: Click "+ Add group" to create additional keyword groups with AND/OR operators
  4. Expand Advanced Filters: Click "Advanced Search Criteria" for more filtering options

Expand the Advanced Search Criteria section to access powerful filtering options:

  • Date Range: Filter notes by date period
  • Note Type: Search specific types of clinical notes
  • Provider: Filter by healthcare provider
  • Department: Narrow results to specific departments
  • Patient Criteria: Apply patient-specific filters

Running and Saving Queries

After building your query:

  • Run (▶): Click the Run button to execute the query and view results
  • Save: Save the query for future use - it will appear in your Saved Notes
  • View Results: Results display matching patient notes with highlighted keywords

Notes Query is useful for:

  • Finding patients with specific symptoms or diagnoses mentioned in notes
  • Searching for medication mentions across clinical documentation
  • Identifying treatment patterns in patient records
  • Extracting clinical insights from unstructured text
